In 2019-2020, the Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) convened its State Health Assessment and Improvement Committee (SHAIC) to review and update the state’s health assessment. This committee is made up of partners across sectors like private business, non-profit, faith-based, and government — and represents the largest group ever convened to improve Mississippi’s health.
That new State Health Assessment summary is available to read here.
The next step in the work of the SHAIC is to prioritize the goals and develop its work plans for the next five years. The priority areas listed here broadly include many issues and represent actionable goals where great work is already happening. These priority areas shape the work that the members of the SHAIC and its partners join in to improve the health of Mississippians.
The SHAIC would appreciate your feedback on the priority areas the SHAIC has identified. Please read the work plans and then use the survey questions at the link below to provide feedback by November 8, 2021.
